Sawyer meets Santa

A day after Sawyer turned 8 months old we brought him to meet Santa. He was happy to see him at first but when we stepped away to take pictures he got a sad look on his face and looked around like, "I hope you aren't leaving me with this guy?"...he never cried and after I comforted him a bit he was happy with Santa again. It was really cute! We are all looking forward to spending time with friends and family in Olympia during Christmas.

Sawyer's 1st Thanksgiving

Sawyer enjoyed his 1st Thanksgiving with Grandma Rita, Grandpa John and Auntie Kari. They traveled over to Pullman to join Sawyer in his 1st Thanksgiving feast (as you can see in one of the pictures, he's drooling over it) :) Also, Auntie turned 25 on the 25th of November so we celebrated that also. Great weekend.

Sawyer & Great Grandma

Getting these updates on the blog is becoming increasingly more difficult with this busy little boy :) So, a few weeks back Sawyer and I went to visit Western WA for a week. We flew over and had a good time. Among our visits was Great Grandma! He was very pleased with her and they enjoyed each other's company. We'll be seeing her this upcoming weekend when we travel over that way again for a concert and Christmas party...

7 Months Already?

Sawyer will be 7 months old next week! I can't believe how fast time goes. He is making great strides towards crawling. Not yet but soon and I'm told our lives will never be the same! We are really enjoying our time with this happy, immobile baby :) He loves the lamb skin his Grandpa John picked out for him and lays on it a lot. More to come soon.

A Leavenworth Surprise

This past weekend I THOUGHT I was headed to Olympia with Dan and Sawyer to visit family and friends. Actually they had all planned a surprise party for me in Leavenworth, WA. It was a beautiful trip and I was absolutely thrilled to see all of my friends and family that traveled from the Olympia and Seattle area to celebrate with us. I had a super time and will remember my 30th forever! Sawyer had an especially good time also. He loves to have all of those people there for his entertainment and to show them what he knows. He got to wear his pumpkin costume on Sunday before everyone left and of course we got plenty of pictures. Thank you all again for sharing a milestone b-day with us!

Go Cougs!

This weekend was busy for us. Our friends, Jon and Liz came to Pullman and joined Dan, Sawyer and I at the WSU/Stanford game. We had a good time and Sawyer was enthralled with all of the sounds and colors. He even had a photo opportunity with Butch! Today Sawyer turns 6 months old! Wow, how time flies. He is growing up so fast and we love this age so much. He is so interactive and loves to smile and make people laugh. Looking forward to more fun.

A fall day with Sawyer

I love the month of October. Beside it being my birthday month, it is a time that brings many great memories to mind. Crisp, sunny days, warm cider and beautiful fall colors. Sawyer experienced his first real "fall day" this weekend. Dan and I took him to a local play on Saturday (The Jungle Book). He was so engaged and had a wonderful time with the bright costumes and songs. After the play we stopped at a fun Mediterranean cafĂ© “Bella Dolce” for a late lunch and took some pictures outside where there were pumpkins for sale. So much fun!

Enjoy the fall,

Sitting up & hanging out

Sawyer is really sitting up well now. He still wobbles back and forth so of course we are there to provide support, but it won't be long now and he'll be sitting up on his own. He tried squash this week and made a terrible face but is now eating it and seems to enjoy the different menu item. Several people have commented on the fact that I am not posted in any of the pictures on this site...so, last night I took a self portrait with Sawyer, Quila and Hope (in the background). Daddy was in surgery until late so we hung out and read books, played "tickle monster" and took pictures. What a night :)

Intro to solid foods

This past week Sawyer has been introduced to rice cereal and has done pretty well with it. He opens his mouth when the spoon approaches but most of the cereal ends up around his mouth and not in it! He really enjoys the taste of the highchair table and almost prefers that over the cereal I'm trying to feed him. He continues to makes us laugh more and more each day.

The season is changing

This week was the 1st time we had to buddle Sawyer up to go out in the a.m. He looked so darned cute in that hat and coat :) We had Dan's cousin and her friend over for dinner on Sunday and Sawyer was a very socail little man that delighted them all night. He was suppose to be sleeping but instead hung out with us and made everyone (especially Daddy) laugh till we hurt. We are planning on going to see the farm animals this weekend at the Latah Co. Fair. Sawyer should get a kick out of that.

Sawyer's first vacation

This past weekend (Labor Day) my mom, dad, sister, Dan, Sawyer and I went to Scottsdale, AZ for some much needed relaxation. Sawyer had the opportunity to socialize with the people that love him most and get in the pool A LOT :) He loves it.

Sawyer's New Toy

Hi all,

Well this is my first entry and I hope that this goes well and is enjoyable to all! Sawyer got a new toy this past week and at first he was pretty overwhelmed by the "Exersaucer" but now is really starting to enjoy it.Sawyer also has his 4 month check up Wednesday and weighed in at 17 lbs. 2 oz. (what a chub!) He was in the 75% for weight and only the 25% for height :) He is starting to really cuddle now and we just enjoy every bit of him!
