A Belated Happy St. Pat's Day ;)

With spring break and a week of no commitments or scheduled places to be, we actually forgot it was St. Patty's Day until mid-day but Sawyer did (amazingly) have green on!

Some shots of the dogs in the last couple days....

The Cowdogs 4 -

Tallulah the nut ball (or is that ball nut) at almosts 2-years old in April

Quila looking as beautiful as ever at 8.5-years old -

Hope giving her famous "stink eye" at a graceful 10-years old.

And last but not least the old man of the brood, Hagen at 11.5-years -

Cowboy & his cowdog

Sawyer playing on the round bales next door with Tallulah - I got a million shots but this one was the winner in my book. I played with some frames and colors too so you can see this X3 ;)

The group getting fed up with the pictures so they could get back to playing...I quit when I saw these faces. I have to keep the "subjects" happy so they let me keep photographing them.

Sawyer the agility instructor & horse whisperer

I took some pictures of Sawyer and Pepper (our neighbor's horse) today - this is actually a fairly regular activity between the fence for these two. She is such a gentle, wise girl - reminds me of our Heidi girl.

Sawyer and Newton have become quite the team. Newton loves to learn and Sawyer decided he wanted to teach him to go through the tunnel - he did this all by himself! He's going to pass me up on handling skills very quickly ;)

Bath time....

I'm sure he won't be pleased with these photos when he's a bit older (hey, the bubbles are covering all the important areas) but I think they are adorable and he was so proud of himself for going all the way in the water ;)

Who let the dogs out?

It's been a wild start to 2009 with the arrival of two terrier mix pups on New Years Eve. Most likely dumped near our home, they showed up full of ticks and VERY hungry. As like many shelters around the country, our local shelter's space is very limited so we are keeping the pups until good homes can be found. Sawyer is certainly enjoying them!

A shot of Hagen & Sawyer in the field....Sawyer wasn't as cooperative as I had hoped.

Sawyer had a little lamb

New Years Day took us out to herd with the dogs and also get to play with some baby lambs. "Pinky" the bottle fed 4-day old, was Sawyer's favorite!

He also has a couple new foster pups too. They showed up on New Years Eve and with the shelter completely full, we are hoping to help find great new homes for these special little babes while they hang out at our place for a while. Eve & Newton are sweet and Sawyer enjoys them as much as they enjoy him ;)

Newton came and spoiled "the moment"

Mudpie anyone?

Sawyer found a mud hole and it was a photo opportunity that I couldn't pass up :)

Some pics of the aftermath.....

Christmas in Texas

We enjoyed our first Christmas in Texas but it just didn't seem like a real holiday without our loved ones near....next year we will not be without them!

Visit to WA

Sawyer and I had a really great visit in Seattle and Olympia last week. We visited Alki Beach, the Seattle Aquarium and the Olympia Capital's beautiful Christmas tree!

AND....we got snow a couple days ago in Texas!! Enough to make a small snowman but it was gone by noon the next day.
